Job summary

Lilly Medicine Foundry in Lebanon, Indiana, invites applicants for a Mixed Modality (Peptide Upstream) Scientist role. The candidate will help transfer peptide upstream processes from development to pilot plant, enabling early-phase cGMP manufacturing of grams to kilogram quantities of API for clinical supply.

We seek a PhD/MS/BS- level chemist with 3+ years in peptide chemistry and solid-phase synthesis, comfortable with SPPS, Cleavage & Precipitation, and analytical methods.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and transfer peptide upstream processes to pilot plant operations.
• Perform synthetic peptide chemistry and evaluate routes from development labs.
• Familiar with SPPS, Cleavage & Precipitation operations.
• Collaborate with safety and process engineering to assess procedure safety.
• Prepare and organize analytical methods and reference materials.
• Document tech transfer plans, SOPs, batch records, and deviation reports.
• Support root cause analysis and CAPA development.
