Job summary

Lilly is seeking a passionate chemist to join the Process Translation and Execution team at the Lilly Medicine Foundry in Indiana. The role focuses on translating peptide upstream processes from development to pilot plant operations, enabling clinical supply with grams to kilogram quantities of API.

The candidate will contribute to process transfer plans, SOPs, and batch records while collaborating across functions to improve safety, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of peptide chemistry and/or manufacturing experience; solid phase peptide synthesis preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States full-time; Lilly will not sponsor visas.

Responsibilities

• Perform synthetic peptide chemistry and evaluate routes for early phase transfers.
• Carry out SPPS and cleavage & precipitation for peptide upstream processes.
• Ensure plant readiness and transfer to pilot plant operations.
• Document batch records, tech transfer plans, SOPs, and deviation reports.
• Support process development, troubleshooting, and CAPA investigations.
• Collaborate across teams to enable cGMP manufacturing for clinical supply.
