Job summary

Iron Sheepdog Inc. in Williamsburg, VA, is seeking a People & Talent Operations Specialist to partner with the Director of People and manage full-cycle HR across ISD's multi-state footprint.

You will oversee recruiting, onboarding, HRIS, payroll inputs, benefits, compliance, and offboarding, while shaping programs for workforce growth and org design. A data-driven approach and discreet handling of sensitive information are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent HR/recruiting experience.
• 3–5+ years of progressive HR experience across core HR functions.
• Experience supporting an HR leader on programs, policy development, or org initiatives.
• Ability to independently own and run a program end-to-end with minimal oversight.
• Strong organizational skills with multiple onboarding cycles and open requisitions.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of People in developing and executing people and organizational strategy as ISD scales.
• Maintain job architecture and compensation framework documentation as new roles are added.
• Translate people data into insights and recommendations for leadership decisions.
• Assist with engagement, culture, and performance initiatives.
• Develop and maintain HR programs, processes, and policies to scale with company growth.
• Manage full-cycle recruitment for exempt and non-exempt positions.
• Partner with managers to create job descriptions and hiring strategies.
• Coordinate background checks, employment verification, and pre-employment requirements.
