Job summary

Fireworks AI, Inc. is seeking a seasoned People Partner to partner with our Engineering and Product orgs in the Bay Area. You’ll influence org design, leadership coaching, and performance enablement across infrastructure, inference, and product teams.

You’ll work with leaders at all levels to shape roadmaps and people strategies, calibrate leveling, and drive talent growth with data-driven insights while upholding our values and fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, with meaningful time as an HRBP or People Partner supporting engineering, product, or R&D organizations, ideally in a high-growth tech or AI environment.
• Genuine fluency in how technical orgs operate and the ability to speak that language with leaders.
• Experience partnering with all levels of management, from VP+ leaders to first-time managers.
• Demonstrated experience coaching and developing managers directly and often. This is a high-touch part of the role.
• Strong judgment in employee relations and the ability to coach, act, or elevate as needed.
• A highly analytical, first-principles mindset with data-driven problem solving.
• Familiarity with compensation and leveling for technical talent, including equity and market dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an embedded, trusted advisor to Eng and Product leadership, surfacing risks and opportunities and guiding high-leverage decisions.
• Partner with leaders and Recruiting to calibrate role scope, leveling, and what 'great' looks like across engineering, research, product, and design.
• Work with senior leadership to shape manager development, coaching frameworks, and support for first-time and newly hired managers.
• Shape performance and growth approaches across technical teams with clear leveling expectations and career paths for IC and management tracks.
• Equip leaders to hire well, set expectations, give direct feedback, and navigate changes with clarity.
• Use headcount, performance, attrition, and engagement data to identify talent risks and inform retention conversations.
• Manage employee relations with sound judgment and reinforce company values.
