Job summary

Goodwill Northern New England is seeking a Director of People Operations & Total Rewards to lead compensation, benefits, and HRIS strategy. This role drives market-competitive pay structures and oversees employee services and workforce analytics to improve the employee experience.

The incumbent will design compensation programs, manage annual planning, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor a team of professionals across the People Operations functions. A hybrid work model is offered.

Qualifications

• Five+ years leading professional HR teams, including managers.
• Experience with enterprise-wide compensation planning and salary administration.
• Advanced proficiency with HRIS, reporting tools, Excel, and workforce analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead compensation, benefits, leave administration, HRIS, employee services, and workforce data functions.
• Set service standards and metrics for People Operations.
• Drive improvements to employee experience, compliance, and efficiency.
• Develop scalable processes to support growth and change.
• Oversee compensation philosophy, policies, and programs.
• Design salary structures, pay grades, and market pricing.
• Lead annual compensation planning, merit and market adjustments.
• Create incentive programs aligned with organizational goals.
• Advise leaders on pay decisions and policy interpretation.
• Govern job descriptions and related governance.
• Oversee benefits, retirement, wellness, and leave programs.
• Collaborate with brokers and vendors for competitive programs.
• Ensure compliance with ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, FMLA, and related laws.
• Oversee HRIS governance, data integrity, security, and reporting.
• Identify automation and integration opportunities with tech.
• Partner with stakeholders to align HR systems with business needs.
• Lead and develop direct reports and foster accountability.
