About The Role
People Operations Specialist supports the systems, programs, and employee processes that keep a growing technology company running smoothly. The role manages core workflows across onboarding, employee records, benefits, payroll coordination, compliance, and HR reporting.
You will partner with employees, managers, Finance, IT, and external vendors to deliver accurate, responsive people support. The team relies on tools such as Rippling, Workday, BambooHR, Greenhouse, Slack, and Google Workspace to create consistent employee experiences as the organization scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage employee lifecycle workflows, including onboarding, offboarding, transfers, promotions, and organizational changes in the HRIS
- Coordinate new-hire setup with IT, Finance, and hiring managers, tracking equipment, system access, payroll inputs, and first-week requirements
- Maintain accurate employee records, documentation, and process guides across HR systems and shared knowledge bases
- Administer benefits and leave processes by coordinating with brokers, payroll providers, and employees on enrollment and eligibility questions
- Prepare recurring people reports and audits using HRIS data, spreadsheets, and dashboards to support headcount planning and compliance
- Respond to employee questions through Slack, email, and ticketing workflows while escalating sensitive or complex matters appropriately
- Improve People Operations processes by documenting requirements, automating repetitive tasks, and evaluating HR tools and vendor performance
What We Are Looking For
- 1-3 years of experience in People Operations, HR coordination, HR administration, or a related role in a technology company or high-growth environment
- Hands-on experience with HRIS and people tools such as Rippling, Workday, BambooHR, Gusto, Greenhouse, or similar platforms
- Working knowledge of employee lifecycle processes, benefits administration, payroll coordination, and basic employment compliance requirements
- Strong spreadsheet skills, including data validation, lookups, pivot tables, and careful reconciliation of employee and headcount data
- Highly organized with strong follow-through, discretion, and the ability to manage confidential information
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a service-oriented approach to employee support and cross-functional collaboration
- Bonus: Experience with HR process automation, people analytics, SOC 2 or audit support, multi-state employment, or a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
