A Brief Overview

The People Operations Specialist will support our HR department’s initiatives and functions within our healthcare organization. This role requires a versatile professional capable of managing recruitment, onboarding, inquiry management, benefits administration, and healthcare compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR practices in healthcare and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Essential Functions
Recruitment and Onboarding
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to define qualifications and expectations; serve as liaison to facilitate requisitions.
  • Review resumes, conduct initial phone screenings, and communicate clearly with candidates throughout the process.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling and manage all interview-related activities.
  • Calculate salary and compensation packages in accordance with company policies.
  • Facilitate onboarding, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate the I-9 verification process.
Inquiry Management
  • Respond to questions and concerns from team members via case management system, phone, or in person.
  • Provide consistent, timely, and accurate support to employees.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve inquiries.
  • Address issues within established SLAs.
Benefits Administration
  • Manage qualifying life events and ACA eligibility processes.
  • Administer COBRA, voluntary, and educational benefits.
  • Assist employees with benefits inquiries and enrollment.
Compliance and Data Entry
  • Ensure adherence to applicable labor laws and healthcare regulations.
  • Maintain accurate employee data in HR systems.
  • Manage bonus processing and employment verification requests.
  • Monitor employee credentials for compliance.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years HR experience, preferably in healthcare.
Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare labor laws and regulations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
