Job summary

SF Compute is hiring a People Operations Manager to build the operational backbone of our People team. You’ll bring outsourced HR operations in-house within 30–45 days and then scale programs, HRIS, and processes as the company grows.

Work closely with Recruiting and Office Manager, reporting to the People Lead. The role emphasizes ambiguity, judgment calls, and creating efficient, scalable HR systems in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of HR generalist or People Operations experience in a lean function.
• Experience with California employment laws (FEHA, CFRA/PFL) and leave management.
• Ownership of HRIS/payroll integrations and data integrity.
• Experience building programs from scratch and scaling HR operations.

Responsibilities

• Own the transition of outsourced HR operations in-house within 30–45 days and scale the function.
• Evolve HRIS integrations and ensure data integrity across HR systems.
• Identify opportunities for automation and scalable processes.
• Lead onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and leave management.
• Manage benefits broker relationships and open enrollment.
• Provide data-driven insights to improve programs and mitigate risks.
• Partner with Recruiting and Office Manager and report to People Lead.
