Job summary

NEURAL EARTH is seeking a People Operations Manager to own payroll, contractor payments, and the complete employee lifecycle across two entities in the US and abroad.

You will lead hiring, HRIS/ATS, onboarding, leave administration, and partner with leaders to build a trusted, compliant People function that scales with the company’s growth and culture. This role reports to the CFO and requires precise handling of sensitive data and multi-state payroll compliance.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years in People Operations or recruiting, owning the hiring process rather than contributing to it.
• Hands-on Rippling administration experience, covering payroll cycles and onboarding workflows.
• Hands-on ATS experience (Ashby or similar), including running candidate screens and managing a pipeline end to end.
• Multi-state US payroll tax registration and compliance experience.
• Experience paying international contractors and supporting two or more legal entities.

Responsibilities

• Manage payroll and contractor payments across two entities, US and globally, including 1099 reporting.
• Own the employee lifecycle end to end: policy management, documentation, leave, onboarding, offboarding.
• Lead complete hiring: headcount approval, job description refinement, ATS administration, screenings, offers.
• Support leaders and employees as the People partner, advising on people solutions and workforce planning.
• Cultivate a culture and environment that keeps the company connected, especially during all-hands.
