Job summary

Ohr in the Greater Denver/Boulder area seeks a Manager, People Operations for a 6-month temporary position with intent to convert to permanent. You will own end-to-end people operations for the Colorado HQ and a growing nationwide remote workforce, partnering with the Head of People & Talent to stand up the site and onboard roughly 50 local hires by mid-2027.

Responsibilities include onboarding/offboarding, HRIS, payroll via a PEO, and multi-state compliance, plus serving as HRBP to managers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in people operations or HR generalist roles, with HRBP experience in a startup or hyper-growth company.
• Working knowledge of multi-state employment compliance, with Colorado experience strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience administering a PEO (TriNet or similar), benefits, and payroll.
• Meticulous and process-minded, with the judgment to handle sensitive matters well.
• A warm, direct communicator who people trust.
• Fluent with modern HR tools, and comfortable using AI and automation to work more effectively.
• Based in the Greater Denver / Boulder area, or willing to commute.

Responsibilities

• Own people operations: Run the employee lifecycle end to end, including onboarding, offboarding, employee records, HRIS administration, and day-to-day employee support.
• Stand up the Colorado worksite: Establish policies, programs, postings, leave practices, and people operations required for the new Colorado headquarters, preparing the site to onboard ~50 local hires through Q2–Q3 2027.
• Administer the PEO relationship: Serve as Ohr’s primary operator within our PEO for payroll, benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee inquiries.
• Manage multi-state people operations: Coordinate requirements across our remote and hybrid workforce, including state registrations, leave, pay transparency, and policy alignment, partnering with our PEO and outside experts as needed.
• Serve as HRBP: Be a trusted partner to managers and employees on performance, employee relations, policy interpretation, and workplace questions, with sound judgment and discretion.
• Build systems that scale: Document and improve people processes so they hold up as headcount grows.
