Redwood Research is hiring its first dedicated People Operations Lead to join our Operations team in Berkeley. You will own onboarding and offboarding, HRIS, payroll and benefits, compliance and immigration cases, and shape our People Ops practices.

Most of our staff are researchers, so you’ll design simple processes that let them focus on research while building scalable people operations. This role suits a proactive professional with strong processes and policy experience.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of experience in People Operations or HR.
• Track record of owning processes from the ground up.
• Experience with high-stakes compliance matters.
• Good judgment in ambiguous situations with no precedent.
• Experience managing immigration cases.
• Meticulous attention to detail with paperwork.
• Highly organized and dependable; follow-through.
• Self-starter who fixes gaps without ownership.
• Clear written and verbal communication; explain reasoning clearly.
• Familiarity with HRIS platforms.

Aufgaben

• Own onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Manage HRIS (Rippling), integrations, and data integrity.
• Lead payroll and benefits administration, including workers' compensation.
• Own HR compliance and risk mitigation.
• Write and maintain People Ops policies and resources.
• Support performance evaluation processes.
• Handle immigration case management with counsel and staff.
• Assist leadership with judgment calls.
• Handle People-related contracts and related processes.
