Job summary

TransGrid Energy is seeking a hands-on HR Generalist to support key HR operations across the employee lifecycle. Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, you will handle onboarding, payroll coordination, benefits, HRIS maintenance, and employee relations in a fast-paced energy environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in HR, a bachelor’s degree, and strong knowledge of multi-state compliance. This role works on-site in the Houston area and partners with Finance, Legal, Talent Acquisition

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience in generalist or operations roles.
• Strong knowledge of payroll, benefits, HR compliance and data privacy.
• Experience with multi-state HR policy and compliance.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and HRIS reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR support across the employee lifecycle including onboarding, transfers, promotions, leaves, and offboarding.
• Coordinate new hire onboarding, offers, HRIS setup, benefits enrollment, and required documentation.
• Administer employee changes in HRIS and maintain records, job info, and compensation data.
• Support payroll accuracy by reviewing changes, time, deductions, and payments.
• Administer benefits programs and coordinate with brokers and carriers.
• Assist with open enrollment, life events, and benefits inquiries.
• Guide on company policies and escalate complex matters to HR leadership.
• Document concerns, assist investigations, and ensure policy consistency.
