Job summary

Hy‑Vee is seeking a Human Resource Manager to partner with store leadership, handling recruitment, payroll, employee relations, and compliance. You’ll support the entire employee lifecycle from onboarding to ongoing development, ensuring a positive and compliant work environment.

The role emphasizes confidentiality, timely HR processes, and collaboration with Store Directors to maintain strong workforce engagement and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus 2 to 3 years of HR and accounting coursework required.
• Hy‑Vee experience preferred.
• Strong communication, discretion, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR partnership from recruitment to payroll and employee relations.
• Counsel department heads on performance reviews, benefits, and personnel matters; serve as Insurance Coordinator and 401(k) Coordinator.
• Coordinate recruiting and retention programs; manage full hiring process including interviewing, placement, orientation, and training.
• Ensure confidentiality of employee records and compliance with company policies.
• Coordinate worker's compensation claims and leave requests; assist in wage adjustments and payroll-related tasks.
• Support store operations with staff scheduling and timely payroll processes.
