Job summary

Rural King is seeking a Human Resources Lead to support store-level human resources operations and create a positive associate experience in Morganton, NC. You will partner with store leadership to drive recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, training, benefits administration, and compliance.

This role requires 2+ years in HR, strong communication, and proficiency with HRIS/ATS. You will help maintain confidential records, support safety initiatives, and foster a culture of People First and

Qualifications

• 2+ years of human resources, recruiting, talent acquisition, or related experience preferred.
• Experience supporting employee relations, onboarding, HR administration, or associate engagement.
• Knowledge of HR practices, employment policies, and workplace compliance.
• Experience using HRIS, ATS, or other computer-based systems preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate with associates and leadership at all levels.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential information.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Growth mindset with a willingness to learn and continuously improve.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting & Talent Acquisition: review applications, phone screenings, candidate selection, coordinate interviews, hiring events and local recruiting initiatives.
• Associate Support & HR Operations: onboarding, orientations, maintain records, HRIS data, attendance, documentation, benefits administration, leave management, HR reporting.
• Employee Relations, Training & Compliance: partner on employee relations, coaching, investigations, policy compliance, training programs, safety, workplace policies, role development.
• Store Support: maintain confidentiality, communicate programs and updates, support associates and leadership, cross-training.
