Job summary

Virgin-Islands-Water- is seeking a Human Resources Intern to gain hands-on experience supporting the HR department. You will assist with recruitment, onboarding, HR reporting, and employee engagement in a safety-focused utility environment.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and detail-oriented, with an interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources. You will collaborate with HR professionals across the organization and gain exposure to HR practices and policies.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a degree program related to HR.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proactive and collaborative attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day HR administrative activities and departmental projects.
• Support recruitment activities, including posting job opportunities, reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, and communicating with candidates.
• Assist with new-hire onboarding and preparation of onboarding materials.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements.
• Assist with HR data entry, reporting, and tracking of employee information.
• Support employee engagement initiatives, company events, recognition programs, and HR communications.
• Assist with the preparation of presentations, reports, spreadsheets, and other HR-related documents.
• Conduct research on HR practices, policies, and employment-related topics as assigned.
• Support HR team members with special projects, process improvements, and organizational initiatives.
• Assist with maintaining HR resources, forms, and internal documentation.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service to employees and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling employee, payroll, benefits, and other sensitive information.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
