Job summary

Salt & Light Ministries in Illinois seeks a Director of People & Culture to drive HR strategy in recruiting, retention, and talent development. This role reports to the Executive Director and focuses on building a safe, spiritually healthy environment for participants, staff, and volunteers alike.

The ideal candidate will be organized, multi-task capable, and able to balance administrative HR duties with culture-building initiatives aligned with our mission and biblical values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources; master’s preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of HR experience.
• Alignment with beliefs; local church involvement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to develop HR strategy for talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession.
• Track and document mandatory training and certifications.
• Facilitate hiring processes with department managers and background checks.
• Administer HR programs including compensation, benefits, and leave; handle investigations.
• Create learning and development initiatives aligned with mission and values.
