Job summary

Capital Area Health Network (CAHN) seeks a People & Culture Assistant to provide administrative and operational support to the HR Department at our Richmond, VA campus. The role focuses on maintaining employee records, HRIS data management, onboarding administration, and coordinating training logistics while upholding confidentiality and professional service.

You will serve as a reliable resource for employees and the HR team, helping with workforce administration, scheduling, and day-to-day

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in Human Resources, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the HR Department.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and departmental records; ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Perform data entry into the HRIS and assist with demographic updates and employment changes.
  • Assist with onboarding paperwork, orientation packets, and documentation for audits and compliance.
  • Support scheduling, training logistics, attendance records, and onboarding materials.
  • Coordinate department operations like supplies, events, and communications.

This position is responsible for maintaining employee records, supporting HRIS data management, coordinating scheduling activities, assisting with onboarding administration, supporting training logistics, and ensuring efficient day-to-day departmental operations. The HR Assistant serves as a key support resource for employees and the HR team by delivering responsive customer service, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with workforce administration activities in a confidential and professional manner.
