Job summary

The Ventura County Employees’ Retirement Association (VCERA) seeks a Retirement IT Manager to lead the Pension Administration System (PAS) operations, supervise a technical team, and coordinate with the CTO and business leadership to improve systems and data quality.

This role requires strong project management, vendor relations, and ITIL-based governance to ensure reliable pension, payroll, and benefits support across VCERA's environment.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressively responsible information systems experience.
• Experience supervising an information technology team.
• Knowledge of project management principles.
• Experience in public retirement system or government agency is desirable.
• Experience supporting payroll or benefits processes.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and organizes PAS daily operations for a medium size internal technical team.
• Leads internal projects supporting PAS and related technologies with project tracking and reporting.
• Collaborates with CTO and Managers to analyze and resolve complex business problems.
• Selects, trains, and evaluates subordinate staff and conducts performance reviews.
• Maintains budget under CTO guidance and controls expenditures.
