VCERA in Ventura County, CA is seeking a Retirement IT Manager to lead the Pension Administration System (PAS) operations, supervise staff, and partner with CTO and leadership to align technology with pension program goals. The role requires strong project coordination, vendor management, and strategic modernization experience, balancing daily operations with long‑term IT modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible information systems experience, including supervising/managing an information technology team.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and organizes the daily operations of VCERA’s pension administration system (PAS) for a medium size internal technical team.
• Leads internal projects in support of the PAS and related technologies, coordinating meetings, tracking, and progress reporting with CTO, leadership, and stakeholders.
• Selects, trains, and evaluates performance of subordinate staff and administers performance evaluations.
• Under the direction of the CTO, maintains budget and controls expenditures for the area.
