Job summary

Ascensus seeks a Senior Actuarial Consultant to act as the technical expert and project manager for annual funding, accounting, and compliance for defined benefit pension plans. You will leverage tools to deliver innovative client solutions and manage deadlines, reviews, and primary client communications.

You will oversee pension calculation reviews, facilitate employee statement projects, and assist in special projects while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in math, actuarial science, or related field.
SOA or Joint Board of Enrolled Actuaries credentials required.
If not credentialed, pursuit of FSA is required.
ProVal experience is a strong plus.
Project management experience
Strong communication skills, including client consulting and presentations

Responsibilities

Serve as the technical expert and project manager for annual funding, accounting, and compliance for defined benefit pension plans.
Leverage tools and resources to provide clients with innovative and effective solutions.
Assist in the development and delivery of quality client communication and deliverables in support of Senior Consultants.
Prepare and manage internal project deadlines and timelines.
Prepare, technically review, and serve as primary client contact on annual service offerings.
Review pension benefit calculations in accordance with plan provisions and applicable regulations.
