Job summary

Lignetics, INC. in Maine is hiring a Mill and Dryer Controls Operator to monitor and control production equipment for steady pellet manufacturing. You will operate pellet mills and dryer systems, adjust temperatures and material blends, and perform quality checks to meet safety and quality standards.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly to changing production conditions. OT may be available, and a forklift certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One to two years of production experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing or production processes preferred.
• Process controls experience is a plus.
• Must successfully complete company forklift certification.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. to waist height and stand for up to 12 hours per day.
• Ability to climb catwalks and ladders to heights up to 60 feet per safety standards.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills required.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to maintain concentration and respond quickly to changing conditions.
• English proficiency to read, interpret, and follow LOTO procedures and safety docs.

Responsibilities

• Operate and adjust pellet mills and regulate dryer inlet and outlet temperatures according to specifications.
• Monitor material bin levels and make adjustments to maintain consistent production.
• Regulate material mixtures to achieve optimal pellet moisture and density.
• Regulate ratios of fresh/aged sawdust and wet/dry shavings to meet specs.
• Monitor pellet moisture and density to stay within quality standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, spot fires, hot bearings, and safety concerns.
• Maintain pellet mill feed rates and adjust/change rolls and dies as needed.
• Complete daily production reports with temperatures, moisture, density, and production tonnage.
• Communicate equipment, quality, and production concerns to supervisors and team members.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area.
• Perform additional duties as required.
