Job summary

The University of Florida is seeking a Student Financial Aid Coordinator I (Federal Programs - Pell) to join the Office for Student Financial Aid and Scholarships on the Gainesville campus. You will verify and award federal aid, resolve processing issues, and ensure timely disbursement for UF students.

Responsibilities include processing Pell/Direct Loans, managing award packages, communicating with students, and handling scholarship and private loan information, with expected salary of $43,888

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred: student financial aid experience.
• Preferred: Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
• Preferred: excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Federal Aid Processing: Monitor Pell Grant and Federal Direct Loan records and resolve processing issues; maintain accurate, compliant aid records.
• Awarding and Eligibility Management: Review eligibility and update aid packages within cost-of-attendance and need-based rules; make manual adjustments as needed.
• Student Communication and Customer Service: Communicate with students via UF's systems about documents and next steps; provide timely updates for on-time disbursement.
• Scholarships and Private Loans: Process scholarship checks; enter/manage private loan information; calculate remaining federal loan eligibility.
• Other Duties: Participate in financial aid presentations, travel, training, and additional duties.
