Job summary

UF ECE Ambassadors is seeking a Student Financial Aid Coordinator I to join the Office for Student Financial Aid and Scholarships. You will verify and award aid, resolve processing issues and ensure timely access to resources for students.

The role involves federal aid processing, eligibility management, and clear student communication, plus handling scholarships, private loans, and occasional travel or training activities. Bachelor’s degree required; financial aid experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in student financial aid preferred.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Federal Aid Processing: Monitor Pell Grant and Federal Direct Loan records with the U.S. Department of Education; resolve issues; maintain accurate aid records.
• Awarding and Eligibility Management: Review eligibility and update aid packages; make manual adjustments when required; assist with cancelling aid when students are no longer eligible.
• Student Communication and Customer Service: Communicate with students through UF’s Gator360 system about documents and next steps; provide timely updates for on‑time disbursement; deliver student‑centered service.
• Scholarships and Private Loans: Process scholarship checks; manage private loan information; calculate remaining federal loan eligibility for lifetime limits.
• Other Duties: Participate in financial aid presentations, travel, training, and other duties as assigned.
