Job summary

San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District is seeking a PEIMS Data Technician to assist the District PEIMS Specialist with data collection, reporting, and maintaining student records.

Under supervision, you will enter attendance data, maintain PEIMS setups in SIS, run edits and reports, and support campuses with data discrepancies while ensuring confidentiality and timely submissions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to organize people, meetings, and events with strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication with school administrators, teachers, students, parents, and vendors.
• Proficient in word processing, file maintenance, and using a PC to develop spreadsheets and databases.
• At least three years of experience on Windows-based computers preferred.
• At least three years of experience in student, financial, transportation, purchasing, inventory, or personnel systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain student records and process requests for records and transcripts.
• Maintain PEIMS setups in SIS and ensure data accuracy for TEA submissions.
• Run edits, reports, and verification checks on PEIMS data.
• Assist campuses in correcting data discrepancies identified via validation reports.
• Provide timely customer service and technical assistance to campus staff.
• Create and maintain user accounts in SIS.
• Train campus personnel on TREx submissions.
• Perform network application printing services for SIS-related data.
