Job summary

Babson College is seeking a Peer Tutor to support students in their assigned courses. This role requires tutors to have excellent communication skills and a strong grasp of the course material, achieved by maintaining a minimum B+ grade.

With a commitment of 2-4 hours per week at a pay rate of $16 per hour, tutors will facilitate both one-on-one and group study sessions, attend relevant meetings, and provide feedback to staff.

Peer Tutor

Duties & Responsibilities

Peer Tutors support the students in their assigned course during the fall, spring, and/or summer sessions.

  • New tutor training and any supplemental tutor training.
  • Attendance at tutor meetings.
  • Attendance at faculty meetings as requested.
  • Hold 1:1 tutor sessions in assigned course.
  • Review of the course syllabus and Canvas site regularly.
  • Correspondence with faculty if needed.
  • Facilitate walk‑in hours and group study sessions.
  • Completion of the WCOnline report after tutor session.
  • Feedback to Peer Tutoring staff regarding concerns, questions, and suggestions.
  • Represent the Peer Tutoring program and team with positivity, professionalism, and good character.
Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Proficiency in the course in which you tutor (achieve a minimum of B+ in the course).
  • Ability to explain concepts of the course to others.
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Remain in good standing with the college.
  • Reliable.
  • Passionate about the course you are tutoring.
Hours and Pay

Hours: 2-4 hours per week.

Pay Rate: $16 per hour.
