Job summary

Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care in Monmouth Junction, NJ is seeking a Peer Support Specialist III to join the Outpatient Monmouth Junction Department. The role uses lived experience to engage clients and support their recovery through direct contact in person or by phone.

You will work as part of a team, follow supervisor guidance, and ensure compliance with Rutgers policies. Requirements include a high school diploma, at least three years of relevant experience including two years

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least three years of previous relevant experience.
• At least two of the three years must be lived experience with the target population.
• Must be certified or eligible for certification as a Peer Support Specialist or Family Advocate; progress toward certification within 12 months is required.

Responsibilities

• Use lived experiences to establish rapport with individuals served and family members.
• Engage consumers in the community to support recovery.
• Follow supervisory direction and be receptive to feedback.
• Demonstrate initiative and flexibility with respect to duties.
• Complete Employee Health updates as required.
• Adhere to Rutgers’ compliance standards in RBHS policies.
