Greater New Jersey Behavioral Health LLC seeks a compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join its Lawrence Township, NJ team. This full-time, on-site role provides non-clinical peer support to individuals navigating mental health and co-occurring substance use challenges.

Through shared lived experience, you will help clients identify personal strengths, set recovery goals, and engage with treatment programs while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of peer support or related behavioral health experience.
• Personal lived experience with mental health or recovery.
• Understanding of recovery-oriented, person-centered, and trauma-informed approaches.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with professional boundaries.
• Ability to work full-time, on-site in Lawrence Township, NJ.

Responsabilités

• Provide individualized, recovery-oriented peer support to individuals experiencing mental health and co-occurring substance use challenges.
• Draw upon personal lived experience with recovery to build trust and hope.
• Support individuals in identifying strengths and recovery goals with practical strategies.
