Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC) in Edison, NJ seeks a Peer Support Specialist III to join Outpatient Services. The role uses lived experience to engage individuals, build rapport, and support recovery goals with both clients and their families.

Responsibilities include collaborative care, sharing recovery insights, and guiding wellness plans. Requires a high school diploma, 3+ years relevant experience, and certification eligibility as a Peer Support Specialist or Family

Qualifications

• Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Be able to use a computer to record services and other basic office functions.
• Pre-employment drug screening and background check including finger printing is required.

Responsibilities

• Engages individuals served in a collaborative and caring relationship.
• Uses lived experience to establish rapport with individuals served and families.
• Communicates wellness and recovery oriented coping strategies to individuals and team.
