Job summary

ACMH, Inc. seeks a Peer Program Specialist (Single Site) to provide home-based direct services, teaching daily living skills and supporting recovery. The role reports to the Program Director and works with clients in Queens (Jamaica) to help with housing stability and independence.

Required lived experience with behavioral health or related services, strong English communication, and basic computer skills. NYCPS certification preferred; part-time hourly salary is listed.

Qualifications

• Lived experience with mental health, substance use, or homeless services.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Basic computer and data entry skills.
• Completion of or on track to NYCPS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach daily living skills (hygiene, laundry, cleaning).
• Monitor apartment maintenance and report issues.
• Teach budgeting, shopping, meal planning and prep.
• Ensure safety and self-preservation in living units.
• Document services and client progress in systems.
