Job summary

ACMH is seeking a Peer Program Specialist (Scattered Site) in Queens for a full-time role providing direct services in clients' homes and teaching daily living skills. Reports to the Program Director and supports recovery goals with clients and their treatment teams.

Applicants should have lived experience with behavioral health, substance use, or homeless services. NYCPS certification is preferred; HS diploma or GED required; strong English communication and basic computer/data-entry skills.

Qualifications

  • Lived experience with mental health, substance use, or homeless services.
  • NYCPS certification preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches skills for personal hygiene, laundry, and apartment cleaning.
  • Monitors maintenance of apartments and reports issues to supervisor.
  • Teaches budgeting, shopping, meal planning, and cooking cleanup.
  • Teaches self-preservation, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Administers cooking safety test for clients.
