Job summary

Resources for Human Development (RHD) seeks a Peer Specialist to guide recovery for individuals facing mental health and/or substance use challenges. Your lived experience will help promote hope, resilience, empowerment, and self-determination.

You will work within an interdisciplinary ACT/ACT Plus team to support recovery goals and community integration. The role includes facilitating peer-led groups, helping develop wellness plans, and advocating for housing, employment, and education

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to document accurately and maintain records.
• Experience with recovery-oriented practices is preferred.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care is beneficial.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications (MS Office) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide recovery-oriented peer support services to individuals with mental health or substance use challenges.
• Utilize lived experience to promote hope, recovery, resilience, and self-determination.
• Assist individuals in developing wellness goals and coping strategies.
• Facilitate peer-led support groups and recovery activities.
• Support housing, employment, education, and community integration goals.
• Participate in the interdisciplinary ACT/ACT Plus treatment team.
• Advocate for self-advocacy and complete treatment planning prep.
