Volunteers of America–Greater New York seeks a Peer Specialist to support a behavioral health housing program in the Bronx. The role involves engaging clients to improve acceptance of services, assisting with information sharing, and supporting staff in following through on the service plan.
The position is part-time (24 hours per week) at Union Commons Bronx, with responsibilities including coordinating appointments, participating in case conferences, and leading groups or workshops as needed.

The Peer Specialist will assist the program in providing treatment services by engaging clients to further their acceptance of services and aids staff in understanding the clients’ issues. Along with the team as a whole, provides follow-up services to assure compliance with the service plan. Acts as a role model for the population serviced.
Union Commons Bronx is a 15-bed behavioral health supported housing program.
