Job summary

Behavioral Health Network (BHN) is seeking a Peer Specialist to join the PACT team serving Western Massachusetts. You will meet with individuals served to orient them to PACT services and help them develop wellness and recovery plans.

You will work as part of a collaborative team to support activities of daily living, assist those involved with the criminal justice system, and respond during psychiatric crises while promoting independence and dignity.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Peer certification, or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • Forensic peer certification, or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for all working hours.
  • Minimum of six months' experience in human services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with new individuals served to orient them to PACT services.
  • Help individuals served develop wellness and recovery plans.
  • Act as part of a team, sharing knowledge and experience with all team members.
  • Help individuals served with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
  • Support individuals served who are involved with the criminal justice system.
  • Support individuals served experiencing a psychiatric crisis.
  • Encourage independence, competency, and decision-making.
  • Initiate and support quality of life through empowerment, safety awareness, and respect and dignity.
  • Provide outreach services to individuals served on a frequent basis as required by supervisor.
  • Act as primary implementer of strategies to meet Treatment Plan goals.

Who You Are:
