Job summary

Westbrook Health Services, Inc. seeks a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) to provide peer support within recovery services. The role includes duties typical of a Behavioral Health Technician and facilitates support groups.

Certification as a PRSS is required to join a team dedicated to recovery-oriented care. The PRSS collaborates with clients and staff to promote wellness, maintains client confidentiality per HIPAA, and adheres to all applicable policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Must hold PRSS certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and interact with diverse groups.
• Experience with electronic charting systems (EHR) and Microsoft Office.
• Must have lived recovery experience to support others.

Responsibilities

• Provides crisis assistance as needed.
• Assists consumer in maintaining eligibility and completing required evaluations within timelines.
• Advocates for and refers consumers to needed services.
• Conducts process groups, educational and other groups.
• Assists clients and staff during admissions and discharges.
• Applies knowledge of chemical dependency and mental health to meet treatment needs.
• Maintains confidentiality and complies with HIPAA regulations.
• Supports Westbrook Health Services mission, policies and procedures.
