Job summary

CND is seeking a Recovery Support Specialist in Columbus, OH to provide peer-based recovery support within a multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on empowering individuals with lived experience to navigate mental health or substance use recovery in the community.

The position emphasizes advocacy, coordination with healthcare providers, and facilitating recovery groups while promoting independence and access to services for diverse populations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Lived experience with behavioral health diagnosis and sobriety required.
• Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist or certification within two months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Act as client advocate and role model to peers, promoting recovery.
• Develop relationships with clients' healthcare providers to support goals.
• Help clients access social services and monitor recovery progress.
• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) such as cooking, hygiene, budgeting.
• Provide transportation to appointments and job sites when needed.
• Facilitate recovery support groups to promote wellness and social skills.
• Provide consumer information and recovery support onsite and in the community.
• Encourage independence and community involvement for diverse backgrounds.
