Preferred Behavioral Health Group is seeking a Peer Recovery Support Specialist to help families affected by substance use. The role uses lived experience to motivate recovery, provide outreach, and connect clients with community supports in a trauma-informed care environment.

The position is based in Hunterdon, Flemington, NJ, with a starting salary of $37,500 annually. The program emphasizes family involvement, recovery planning, and advocacy to achieve sustainable outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Knowledge of addictions preferred.
• At least 2 continuous years of sustained recovery.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Assist parents/caregivers to gain skills and resources for recovery.
• Provide outreach and engagement to individuals with a substance use disorder.
• Develop a Recovery Plan with culturally competent services and measurable objectives.
• Attend Family Team Meetings and participate in case consultations with workers.
• Educate families on navigating treatment, social service and recovery supports systems.
