Job summary

The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay is seeking a Peer Recovery Navigator (Peer Specialist) to provide peer-based crisis intervention and support within Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco Counties. This role emphasizes lived experience with recovery and connects individuals and families to resources, navigating toward court-ordered treatment if needed.

Based in the Tampa Bay area, the navigator works with multiple internal and external teams, offering information, referrals, and support through court

Qualifications

• Personal, lived experience with substance use and recovery required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a social service-related field required.
• CRPS certification or meets the requirements to become certified within 6 months of employment required
• Two years of experience and/or training related to addictions required
• Bilingual highly preferred but not required
• Exhibits excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Windows-based computer systems and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) required

Responsibilities

• Provides exceptional, client-centered peer-based services and crisis intervention.
• Responds to referrals within 24 business hours.
• Documents client information/interactions in HIPAA-protected systems.
• Coordinates internal and external services for clients impacted by substance use.
• Assists families with the Marchman Act process and related court involvement.
• Engages with community stakeholders and attends stakeholder events.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a social service-related field
