Job summary

Peace River Center in Bartow is seeking a Peer Specialist to provide mentoring and support for individuals with substance use disorders. The role involves aiding clients in navigating various service systems while fostering recovery and resilience.

The ideal candidate must possess a High School Diploma or GED, a history of substance use recovery, and be certified as a Peer Specialist or willing to complete certification upon hire.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective interaction with clients and team members.

Qualifications

Has received services for symptoms of substance use and has at least three years of sobriety.
Must have certification from the State of Florida as a Certified Peer Specialist or willingness to complete it within one year of hire.
Complete all PRC required trainings.

Responsibilities

Provide peer mentoring and support for individuals with substance use disorders.
Assist individuals in navigating mental health and substance use services.
Document progress of individuals served to maintain records.
