The Children’s Network of Hillsborough is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to guide families navigating the child welfare system. You will use lived experience and professional training to engage parents, provide recovery resources, and document progress.

This in-office role includes field visits, travel within Hillsborough County, and collaboration with case managers. Requirements include a high school diploma and at least two years of peer recovery experience; driving is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of peer recovery experience.
• Working knowledge of local community services.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Ability to drive and travel within Hillsborough County.

Responsibilities

• Meet families at identified points in their cases to provide information on community recovery resources.
• Engage parents using lived experience and training to support their recovery.
• Participate in staffings and case reviews to share progress and input.
• Document and report to the child welfare case manager in a timely manner.
• Conduct home visits as requested to ensure engagement and progress.
• Recognize crises and respond following established policies and protocols.
• Maintain FSFN data entry and other required documentation.
• Drive and complete field-based assignments visiting clients in homes and community sites.
• Collaborate with team and stakeholders to support service delivery.
