Job summary

WestCare Gulf Coast-Florida Inc. seeks a peer support advocate with lived recovery experience to deliver recovery services and coaching in Pinellas Park. You will educate clients, connect them with community resources, and promote wellness and resilience in the community setting.

Responsibilities include advocating for access to services, supporting client independence, and assisting with program planning. A High School diploma is required; CRPS certification and DCF Level II clearance are

Qualifications

• Lived experience and recovery from substance use disorders.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Must pass a Level II DCF background check.

Responsibilities

• Educate and refer clients to community agencies and services.
• Provide services that promote wellness, recovery, and resiliency.
• Assist clients with establishing or re-establishing support systems.
• Advocate to improve access to services and treatment.
• Participate in clinical staffing decisions on strengths and needs.
• Provide support and supervision to program clients.
• Collaborate with WestCare staff to promote cooperation.
• Involve the facility in recovery activities and plan events.
• Embrace WestCare's mission and principles in daily work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
