Job summary

Carle Health in Peoria, IL seeks a Recovery Support Specialist to provide recovery-oriented services to adults with behavioral health diagnoses under supervision. You will support groups, mentor clients, and facilitate recovery planning while coordinating with community providers.

Qualifications

• Must have lived experience with mental illness.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively; strong problem-solving and critical thinking.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to document accurately.
• Must hold IL certifications CRSS and CPRS within 2 years and a valid IL driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assure consumers receive strength-based ongoing services for behavioral health needs aligned with goals.
• Encourage individuals to develop recovery plans based on evidence-based practices.
• Follow CRSS ethics when providing support.
• Provide mentoring, individual and group support, and teach self-advocacy and motivation.
• Facilitate groups and classes on daily living skills, coping, health awareness, and community resources.
• Share recovery stories to motivate clients and coordinate with ERS for further assessment.
• Link to mental health services and programs, including psychiatry and medication management.
