Job summary

Henderson Comprehensive Treatment Center, part of Acadia Healthcare, seeks a Part-Time Peer Recovery Support Specialist to support patients in recovery from Opioid Use Disorder and assist with barriers to treatment. The role is grant-funded and part-time (up to 20 hours/week), with a schedule Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM.

PRSS is required; PRSS-S is preferred. Responsibilities include mentorship, care coordination, and connecting patients to community resources and services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides peer support to clinically complex patients, drawing on common experiences as a peer and encouraging participation in recovery.
• Engages patients at initial contact to expedite screening for appropriate level of care.
• Acts as advocate and mentor to patients in recovery to promote empowerment and engagement.
• Shares coping techniques and self-help strategies to promote personal growth and resilience.
• Liaises between patients, clinical team and community resources to meet social needs and support recovery.
• Documents services provided, maintains records per clinical standards and policy guidelines.
