Job summary

Southwest Vegas Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) in Las Vegas, NV seeks a part-time Peer Recovery Support Specialist to assist patients in recovery from opioid use disorder. The role offers morning hours, 20 hours/week, and exposure to a leadership-driven MAT program.

Responsibilities include giving peer support, engaging patients at intake, mentoring for empowerment, and coordinating with clinicians and community resources. Grant-funded position with potential for renewal.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• No previous work experience in the field is required, although highly preferred.
• Direct experience in substance use disorder (SUD) through personal life experiences or internships is preferred.
• Ideal experience includes recovery experience and familiarity with MAT approaches.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to patients and encourage participation in recovery.
• Engage patients at initial contact to assess level of care.
• Act as mentor to promote empowerment and engagement in recovery.
• Share coping strategies and support personal growth.
• Provide information about MAT options and related services.
• Liaise with patients, clinical team, and community resources to support housing, employment, and daily living needs.
• Support patients in connecting with primary care and other medical services.
• Facilitate peer-led groups or one-on-one recovery coaching.
