Job summary

Lakeview Health Services in Macedon, NY, is seeking a Peer Support Specialist at Woodland Commons to assist residents in recovery and personal goal achievement. The role involves building peer recovery programs, providing guidance, and coordinating daily schedules with the program manager.

You will work Tuesday to Saturday, 10:30am–6:00pm, with opportunities for professional growth through trauma-informed practices, CPRP-relevant training, and potential credential support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of experience in recovery-based or vocational/rehabilitative settings.
• Lived experience with mental health services required.
• Completion of or significant progress toward the Peer Certification Program within one year of hire date.
• Possession of the CPRP credential is a plus.
• A valid driver license or be eligible for the NY State license for certain programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop peer recovery-based programs and groups with the Program Manager.
• Learn and participate in the general functioning of the Residential Programs.
• Provide guidance and support based on evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care.
• Assist residents in clarifying rehabilitation and recovery goals.
• Monitor progress and services from individualized service plans.
• Support residents weekly toward provisional certificate goals.
• Coordinate daily schedules based on individual needs and preferences.
• Share personal experience to support recovery in an appropriate and respectful manner.
• Serve as a role model and educate about self-help techniques and group processes.
• Encourage participation in social, recreational, educational, and cultural activities.
• Adhere to OMH and other agency policies and procedures.
