Job summary

Lakeview Health Services seeks a dedicated Peer Support Specialist in Macedon, NY to help residents achieve recovery goals and participate in daily program activities. You will work with the program manager to develop peer-based groups and provide guidance grounded in trauma-informed care.

Required are a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years’ experience with special needs in recovery or rehabilitation settings.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years’ experience in a recovery-based or vocational setting.
Lived experience with mental health services required.
Completion of or significant progress toward the Peer Certification Program within one year of hire date.
Possession of a valid NY driver license or eligibility for one is required for some programs.

Responsibilities

Develop peer recovery-based programs and groups with the Program Manager.
Learn and participate in the general functioning of Residential Programs.
Provide guidance and support based on trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices.
Assist residents in clarifying rehabilitation and recovery goals.
Monitor progress and support individualized service plans.
