Job summary

Family & Children’s Services is seeking a Peer Recovery Support Specialist in Tulsa, OK. Use lived experience with mental health/substance use recovery to provide hope, support, and guidance within an integrated care team.

You will help clients develop recovery goals, navigate treatment services, and connect with community resources, while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries in all interactions.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school graduate or have HS equivalent.
• Experience working with adults with mental illness is preferred.
• ODMHSAS Case Manager I Certification must be obtained within 90 days of eligibility.
• PRSS Certification required.
• Wellness Coach Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and/or group peer support to individuals recovering from mental health and/or substance use challenges.
• Share personal experiences to build trust, inspire hope, and empower clients.
• Develop personalized recovery/safety/stabilization plans with goals and strategies.
• Help clients navigate the healthcare system and connect to housing and community resources.
• Collaborate with clinical staff, case managers, and others to ensure holistic, person-centered care.
• Provide education on recovery and wellness to encourage active participation.
• Assist clients in developing self-advocacy and support networks.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services per agency standards.
• May lead peer-led recovery groups and workshops as needed.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and supervision.
