Job summary

Family & Children's Services in the OKC/ Norman area is seeking a Peer Recovery Support Specialist who brings lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery to support individuals on their path to stability. You will join an integrated care team to provide peer-based recovery support, help clients set and reach recovery goals, and connect them with community resources.

Qualifications

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
Experience with mental health services for adults preferred.
Excellent communication and engagement skills.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one and/or group peer support to individuals in recovery from mental health and/or substance use challenges.
Share lived experience to build trust, inspire hope, and empower clients.
Help clients develop personalized recovery/safety/stabilization plans and set goals.
Assist clients in navigating healthcare, housing, and community resources.
Collaborate with clinical staff, case managers, and other professionals to ensure holistic, person-centered care.
Provide education on recovery and wellness and encourage client self-advocacy.
Maintain accurate documentation of services in accordance with agency standards.
