Job summary

Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana Inc in New Orleans, LA seeks a Peer Recovery Coach to provide aftercare peer support to graduates of the residential center and coordinate with Crescent Care and SUMR partners for outreach events.

The role supports design and implementation of programming across ASAM levels of care, including 3.5/3.3/3.1 and aftercare. Expect 11:30a–8p Tue–Sat with local travel and office/community-based duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Lived experience with a substance use disorder and 12–36 months continuous recovery.
• Registered Peer Support Specialist credential required (can be obtained after hire).
• Experience working with women experiencing substance use disorders is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide aftercare peer support to graduates of the residential center.
• Coordinate with Crescent Care and partners to execute outreach events.
• Facilitate weekly peer support groups for residents and alumni.
• Document activities and outcomes in the EHR within 1 business day.
• Support design and implementation of programming across ASAM levels of care.
