Baltimore City is seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist to join the Recovery Friendly Program. You will provide career navigation, resume support, and connect residents in recovery to employment, training, and MOED services across the city.

The role demands lived recovery experience, CCAR Recovery Coach training, and the ability to collaborate with recovery centers, employers, and MOED staff to expand opportunities and support pathways to sustainable work.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of job readiness, employment and training practices that help Baltimore City residents advance from low-wage to high-wage jobs.
• Knowledge of different practice for management and recovery from substance use disorders and the preparation needed for employment.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other agencies, public and private partners, MOED associates.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and make presentations to community partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide career navigation and referral services to job seekers in recovery from substance use disorder (70%).
• Develop, maintain and expand the network of recovery centers engaged in MOED services throughout Baltimore City (20%).
• Serve as a liaison for recovery services to employers and MOED staff as needed (10%).
