Job summary

ACMH is seeking a Peer Program Specialist (Single Site) to provide direct home-based services and training in daily living skills for residents of the Sabra Goldman House in Queens Village, NY. The role is part-time and pays hourly, with 16 hours per week.

The ideal candidate has lived experience with mental health or related services, strong communication skills in English, and a HS diploma or GED. NYCPS certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Lived experience with mental health, substance use, or homelessness services is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English is required.
• Basic computer and data entry skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct service and home-based training in daily living skills.
• Teach budgeting, shopping, meal planning, and cooking safety.
• Monitor apartment maintenance and safety, and report issues.
• Administer client cooking safety tests and document progress.
• Support medication self-administration according to policy.
• Escort clients for travel and facilitate groups as needed.
• Document services and client progress in a timely manner.
• Support clients in developing self-advocacy and reduce emergency service needs.
